I think what you published was very reasonable. But, consider this, what if you were to create a killer headline? I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your blog, however suppose you added a headline that grabbed a person's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little vanilla. You could glance at Yahoo's front page and watch how they create news titles to grab viewers to open the links. You might try adding a video or a related picture or two to get people excited about what you've got to say. In my opinion, it would bring your website a little livelier.
